The Koi

Another Sweet Pea Stamps card from me, this time using Ching Chou Kuik's The Koi:

I coloured the image with my Prismacolor pencils....

...and added detail with a white gel pen and some Stickles glitter glue.

I decorated an easel card with seaside-theme papers from Crafty Individuals and added gemstones and paper blossoms.

You can find this beautiful stamp in digi or red rubber format at the Sweet Pea Stamps store... and don't forget, until 7 March all Ching Chou Kuik digi stamps are on sale at 25% off.

Vintage Heart

This week at Sweet Pea Stamps it's our Featured Artist Week and this month the DT are featuring the gorgeous artwork of one of the newest additions to the roster of Sweet Pea artists, Charity Dauenhauer. I chose to work with this beautiful stamp called Vintage Heart:

I love the mix of steampunk, fantasy and romance in this image - just perfect for a Valentine's card, actually. ;) I coloured the image with a mixture of Promarkers and Prismacolor pencils and carefully cut around it.

I decorated my card with papers in warm tones (and continuing the heart/romance theme ;D) and textured gold mirri card. I added some delicate vintage lace and layered the image over it using foam tape.

I love the warm glow that this textured mirri card gives when the light hits it.

This stamp is available in red rubber or digi format from the Sweet Pea Stamps store.

A Rose By Any Other Name...

This week is Variations Week at Sweet Pea Stamps, where all the Design Team create projects using the same stamp. I always love Variations Week as it's so amazing to see how people can take the same image and create such amazingly different projects using it. :)

The image we're using this week is a new stamp from Concetta Kilmer called Rose:

I went for a soft pastels colour scheme for my card and decided to colour the image using my Prismacolor pencils, for a nice soft effect:

I die-cut the image out using a decorative oval die and decorated my card with pretty floral papers. I layered on a doily and a punched border strip before attaching my image using foam tape.

To finish things off I added detail around the edges of the image and in the corners of the card using a pink Perlen Pen.

This gorgeous stamp is available in red rubber or digi format from the Sweet Pea Stamps store. And don't forget to check the Sweet Pea Stamps blog each day this week for more great projects designed using this stamp.

Nothern Nightfall

For my Sweet Pea Stamps creation this week I am using an image from one of my all-time favourite Sweet Pea artists - Ching Chou Kuik. I just love her beautiful, stylised women and the fabulous detail in her drawings. Her work has a real sense of mystery, and often melancholy, to it.

This digi stamp is one I hadn't worked with before, called Northern Nightfall:

I coloured this image with my Promarkers in soft pastel colours. I just love the little unicorn in this image. :)

I mixed pale blue cardstock with pastel pink shabby chic-style paper for my card and added decoration with a length of lacy ribbon, some die-cut leafy flourishes and lots of pretty little flowers.

You can find this gorgeous image in red rubber or digi format in the Sweet Pea Stamps store.

Amelia

Helena Reis is one of the newer additions to the fabulous range of artists whose stamps you can buy from Sweet Pea Stamps and I love her cute yet quirky style. This week I chose to work with one of her recent releases, this adorable stamp called Amelia:

I coloured the image with my Promarkers and added a couple of highlights here and there with a white gel pen. The oval frame of the image makes it perfect to cut out ready for use on a card.

I decorated my card with patterned papers in pretty pastel colours and added some lengths of ribbon and lace and some die-cut leafy flourishes:

To finish I dotted a border with a pearl white Perlen Pen.

All of Helena's lovely stamps are available in red rubber or digi format from the Sweet Pea Stamps store.

Featured Artist : Charmaine Flannery

Each month at Sweet Pea Stamps we showcase the work of one of our fabulous artists and this month it's the turn of Charmaine Flannery. For my creation this week I chose to work with her Blue Mermaid digi stamp:

I coloured the image using Prismacolor pencils and added some white Perlen Pen to the bubbles:

I decorated my card with patterned paper and used a gold marker to edge the paper and the image. I attached the image using foam tape and layering it over a decorative doily.

I finished off the card with lots of pretty blossoms and some flourishes dotted with the Perlen Pen.

You can find all Charmaine's gorgeous stamps in the Sweet Pea Stamps store, in both red rubber and digi format.

Rebecca Sinz's Wither

It's Variations Week once again at Sweet Pea Stamps, where all the Design Team get to create with the same image. This month we are using Rebecca Sinz's gorgeous Wither:

I love Rebecca's gothic women and this pretty stamp is no exception. I coloured her with my Promarkers and cut her out using a decorative oval frame:

I used some vintage style papers for my card and finished things off with some delicate flowers...

....and some Perlen Pen flourishes:

This stamp is available in red rubber or digi format from the Sweet Pea Stamps store.

Black and White (and Grey is Okay)

That's the January challenge theme at the One Sweet Challenge blog and I thought I'd incorporate this into my creation for Sweet Pea Stamps this week. :)

I've been feeling quite arty lately and the black and white theme made me think of the contrast between black ink and white paper so I decided to do a doodled card.

I used Helena Reis' adorable Joy Is... A Basket Full Of Cats digi stamp and shaded it simply using a HB pencil. I then carefully cut around it.

I rounded the corners of a 7x7" card blank and cut a panel of card slightly smaller than that and rounded the edges too. And then I just went to town with my Uniball fineliner, doodling a frame over which to place my image, a greeting and some pretty flowers and butterflies. Finally I added a simple border around the cardstock panel.

To finish the card, I simply adhered my doodled panel to the card front and attached my cut-out image using foam tape. :)

This lovely stamp is available in red rubber or digi format from the Sweet Pea Stamps store - and don't forget there's currently a sale on!

The challenge at One Sweet Challenge runs for a month so enter now for a chance to win yourself some Sweet Pea Stamps! :)

Nectar of Life

For my Sweet Pea Stamps creation this week I have chosen to work with this stunning digi stamp by Charmaine Flannery called Nectar of Life:

I coloured this striking image using my Promarkers:

And teamed it with patterned papers in neutral, earthy tones. I added a piece of twill ribbon and some pretty blossoms...

...and attached my coloured image using foam tape.

To finish I added a die-cut filigree butterfly and some dots of Stickles.

This stamp is available in both red rubber and digi format from the Sweet Pea Stamps store. And don't forget that until tomorrow, all digi stamps are on sale at 25% off.
