Use a Digi

The new challenge at One Stitch At A Time is so easy to enter - just use a digital element on your creation, whether that be a digi stamp, digital papers, you name it. :)

For my project this week, I've used this rather elegant Cat Lady digi stamp by Pookie Designs at Stitchy Bear Stamps:

I coloured the image with my Promarkers and cut it out using a pretty die:

I went with a blue and white colour scheme for my card, to match with my colouring on the image, and decided to make good use of the animal print background stamp that I picked up not long ago in Hobbycraft. :)

I accessorised (dahling) with lacy ribbon and pretty flowers. :)

The challenge runs for a week and you don't have to use a Stitchy Bear image to enter, though doing so will give you the chance to win our main prize. Entries not using a Stitchy Bear product will be entered into a draw to win a $3 gift voucher for the Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
2 Sisters - Make It Sparkle
Allsorts - Fur and Feathers
Brown Sugar - Shades of Blue
Creative Corner - Anything Goes
Creative Fingers - Anything Goes
Digitally Sweet - Anything Goes with Bright Colours

Mother and Baby Girl

It's Variations Week again at Sweet Pea Stamps, where the Design Team all work with the same image. I always love to see how we all create such different projects from the same starting point. This week we have all been creating with Connie Fong's adorable Mother and Baby image. There are two versions - Boy or Girl - and I've chosen to work with the Girl version:
This is such a pretty image. I love the tenderness of the pose, a mother cradling her little baby. :) I coloured the image with my Promarkers in warm shades of red and pink and fussy cut it out:
I went with a rich, warm feeling for my card with pretty patterned papers in rich colours and distressed edges and used embossing folders and accented the embossing with Inka Gold.

I added lacy ribbon and clusters of pretty flowers and touched them with glitter glue.
And I added a few final accents with a copper Perlen Pen.
You can buy this gorgeous stamp in digi or red rubber form from the Sweet Pea Stamps store.

WOYWW 214

I'm late to the WOYWW party again this week. Things are soooo busy here right now and I was also feeling pretty rotten this morning so not up to blogging. Feeling slightly more human now though so have managed to snap a photo of the chaos:

Hard to believe, but yes, it's actually worse than last week. Mind you, it looks the way it does right now because I've spent the last couple of days fruitlessly searching the house (including my craft room) for a missing bank card. The machine ate my card on Monday, at which point I remembered receiving a new card in the post several weeks ago. I put it aside and forgot about it. And now the bank have obviously decided that I've had the new card for long enough and the old one can be deactivated. Whoops!

I've searched high and low and I cannot find the darned thing anywhere. So I've had to phone the bank and ask them to please cancel it and send out a replacement - which can take up to 5 working days to receive! *sigh* I really wish I could be more organised. :/

On that note, however, I did do a teensy bit of reorganising in the craft pit - I got fed up of all the various flower embellishments no longer fitting in the drawer I had assigned them and the drawer constantly being left pulled out with packets of flowers overflowing from it.

So I bought this:

I had a nice time sorting out my flowers into it... problem is, they don't actually all fit! Maybe I should buy another one....

I have also done a bit of crafting in the last couple of days... I made a very quick birthday card to send to my mum's partner for his birthday yesterday:

I used patterned paper from Stampin' Up! and new stamps - and matching punch and embossing folder - from the new Stampin' Up! catalogue. The sentiment stamp (and matching Framelit die) are also from Stampin' Up!.

Fancy Enough For Ya?

The challenge theme at One Stitch At A Time this week is "fancy folds"... so I decided to go all out and make a card with fancy folding galore! :)

Whaddaya think? :)

I made an accordion card and I used double-sided card for the base card as both sides would be on view once it was folded. I then added some panels of patterned paper in a contrasting colour.

I decorated my card with Stitchy's gorgeous Flutterby stamp. I printed the image four times, in two different sizes (I just love the versatility of digi stamps that allows you to do stuff like this), and coloured them with my Promarkers before cutting them out.

I also added some Stickles on the wings and stamped and embossed a greeting.

I love how this card looks. It folds nicely flat for posting (am going to send it to my cousin) but when it's all opened out it looks really striking.

You don't have to use a Stitchy Bear products to enter our challenge but if you do you'll be in with a chance to win our main prize. Entries not using a Stitchy Bear product will be entered into a draw to win a $3 gift voucher to the Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Graph'It Marker Challenge - Bright and Beautiful Birthday Bonanza
Left of Center Challenges - Use a Sentiment on the Front
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes

WOYWW 213

Otherwise known as the one where I forgot it was Wednesday again! Doh!

Hence this is a very short post with a snap taken with my phone (and attempting to upload said photo and publish this post from my phone!):

The desk is even more chaotic than usual - I know, you didn't think it was possible, did you? I was busy creating last night and the desk is awash with scraps of paper, discarded tools and embellies, coloured digi stamps and attempts at fancy fold cards. :)

Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves

As soon as I saw the theme for this week's "Name That Tune" challenge at Passion for Promarkers, I knew exactly what song I was going to use for my inspiration. As it happened, I had already printed out Saturated Canary's gorgeous Zorana digi stamp, ready for colouring, and of course this song sprang immediately to mind:

And this was the card I made:

I coloured the image with my Promarkers and added a couple of highlights here and there with a white gel pen:

I used some pretty freebie papers in pastel colours and some co-ordinating pearlised cardstock for matting. I used a pretty EK Success border punch and added some ribbon and a bunch of pretty flowers:

I used Stampin' Up! butterfly punches to punch some butterflies from more of the pearlised card and added them to the card with some gemstone accents:

A pretty card inspired by an awesome song. :)

Anything Goes

It's time for another Anything Goes challenge at One Stitch at a Time. You can enter any kind of project, there are no restrictions at all. You don't even have to use a Stitchy Bear product (though of course we'd love it if you did). ;)

For my creation I've used Floppy Latte Designs' pretty Oh Dahlia digi stamp and coloured it with my Promarkers:

I decided to do something a little different for my project and created a little decorated notebook. I saw this idea demonstrated at a Stampin' Up! training day and it is so quick and easy to do and really effective. :)

I took a cheap basic notepad and scored a strip of cardstock to form the cover. I decorated it with a panel of embossed cardstock (loving this woodgrain embossing folder from Stampin' Up!) and cut around my coloured image and attached it:

I added some gemstones and some baker's twine to fasten the booklet closed and added some Glossy Accents to give some sheen to the centre of the flowers:

Isn't it cute? Here's the little notepad inside:

These really are so quick to make. I think I might make some for end of year gifts for my DD1's nursery teachers. :)

The challenge at OSAAT runs for one week. As ever, entries using a Stitchy Bear product will be eligible to win our main prize and entries not using a Stitchy Bear product will have a chance to win a $3 gift voucher to the Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

Crafty Catz - Say It With Flowers
Digi Haven - Flowers
