WOYWW - 1 February 2012

Seriously? It's February already? Gah. Seems like we only took the christmas tree down a few days ago... oh wait, we *did* only take it down a few days ago!

So he were are in February and another Wednesday is upon us, which of course means another tour of crafty desks the world over, as hosted by the lovely Julia over at the (now famous!!) Stamping Ground blog.

Not a huge amount to see on my desk today. I've spent Tuesday night (okay, tonight, given that it's only technically Wednesday because I'm once again up past midnight) crafting but have to say am not entitely happy with the results so far.

What I've been working on is an art journal background (definitely still needs work) and a (too rushed and not very good) self(-ish) portrait that I was planning to use on the journal page. I may scrap it and try something else.

I think I need to come back to these tomorrow with fresh eyes and see what I think of them in the cold light of day.

Yep, sometimes walking away is the best option, no point forcing something that's not flowing, hope when you awake things are clearer for you..

Happy Wednesday x

I agree with Minxy. Walk away and come back later. You will have a better perspective after it's set for awhile. Happy WOYWW and drop by if you are interested in taking my free altered book classes. I'm # 30 this week.

instead of scrapping it if you really don't like it, why not just keep it. you might be able to use it in a collage later on.
happy WOYWW, and thanks for sharing!

Sometimes a good cup of herbal tea is just what I need...seems to give you renewed optimism to relook at what you have been doing.

Why does that happen so often? Something that takes ages to make and still doesn't work, when you return to it later, often falls straight into place?? Defies logic, but it's true! Happens to me all the time.... I'll have to craft in stages instead of trying to make something all in one go, lol!

If I'm having trouble getting some thing right I walk away from it, usually find I can figure out what needs changing in the morning - either that or I decide it is not going to work and a new day brings a fresh start.

Instead of scrapping it why not leave it for a day or two and come back to it then with fresh eyes. It usually helps for me x x

Sometimes the best thing you can do is to just leave what you are working on, get a good night's rest and approach it freshly the next day ... it works with crosswords :)) Hope you have a wonderful week. Elizabeth x #78

Your desk looks relatively tidy considering you're working on something. I hate it when I'm not happy with how something has turned out, maybe sleeping on it helped?

I'm attempting to get around everyone's woyww posts this week (a new one for me!) I don't usually have time to get round everyone.
But I haven't done my own post yet - it'll have to wait til I get home from work this evening.

Really I'm too late to have a opinion, but isn't the whole point of your journal to capture the stuff you do, rather than a exactly perfect book full of perfect pictures ........and also, omgeeee, what's not to like about what you've done...clever!!!

It is a work in progress, and that in itself, is a good thing!
